SAHARA THREE-DAY WORKSHOP (PLUS, Optional: 2 or 4 Day)
DESCRIPTION: SAHARA derives its inspiration from the jewelry and decorations of the "blue people" of the Sahara, as well as the colors and undulating sand dunes of the Sahara. Patterns from African baskets and woven and printed cloth patterns are also to be found here. First add color and depth to your canvas by learning how to layer Copic transparent markers to create unique background colors. Then, stitching with multiple textures and weights of silk, cotton, soy and metallic threads mixed with flat, square and tubular beads, create both solid and open-worked stitched areas to complete the design.
PROFICIENCY LEVEL: Advanced Intermediate
GROUND FABRIC: 18 count eggshell mono canvas. Edges are taped and design is outlined on the canvas.
